Refund and Cancellation Policy

How to cancel, what is refunded and what is not, and how long a refund takes.

Effective 10 September 2026. LandSahi is operated by Legacy Technologies Private Limited. This document is written in plain English and is not legal advice; where it changes materially, the new date appears here.

LandSahi is operated by Legacy Technologies Private Limited. Report packages and documents are one-time purchases. The map subscription is 30 days of access paid in advance, and a map top-up is a fixed number of lookups; neither renews by itself, so there is nothing recurring to stop.

Cancelling

  • Before you pay: an unpaid order needs no cancellation. Leave it unpaid and nothing happens; it never turns into a charge.
  • Paid, build not started or failed: the order is cancelled on request and refunded in full.
  • Delivered: a report that was built, or a document that was fetched, is a delivered digital service and is not refundable except in the cases below.
  • Map subscription or top-up, paid: access starts the moment the payment is confirmed and is delivered in full at that moment. The unused part of a subscription period, or unused top-up lookups, are not refunded except in the cases below. Usage limits are shown on your account page before you buy.

Before you pay

Every parcel gets a free snapshot first, confirming that the parcel can actually be located in the official records before any money changes hands. That step exists so you are never paying to find out whether we can find the land.

How a payment is confirmed

You pay through Razorpay, the payment gateway on our IDFC FIRST Bank account, by UPI, card or netbanking. The gateway confirms the payment as soon as your bank authorises it, and the order goes ahead from that moment. A payment that fails is not taken. If your account is debited for a payment that did not complete, the amount is reversed by your bank or refunded by the gateway.

Our earlier manual UPI checkout, where you paid our UPI ID and submitted the bank reference (UTR), closed on 24 September 2026, and an order left unpaid on it can no longer be paid. A UPI transfer we received for such an order, or cannot match to any order, is returned to the paying account within 3 to 5 business days once you share the UTR.

When a report cannot be delivered

If report generation fails entirely for a paid order, you are entitled to a re-run or a refund of that order. A report that was built is a delivered service even where sections read unknown: an honest unknown is a result. It means the source could not be read, and the report says so instead of guessing. Which checks a package runs is set out module by module on the pricing page, and every section states which source it read.

Individual documents

The per-document service fetches the government's own digital documents (7/12, फेरफार, Index-II prints) from the official portals on your behalf. A document the portal does not hold in digital form is reported exactly as the portal answers, and that answer (including "no records found" on a deed search) is the delivered service and is not refunded. Only an answer the portal itself gave to a search that completed counts: an outage, a search that did not finish, or any other failure is never treated as one. If a paid document cannot be fetched at all, we keep retrying it automatically for 48 hours after payment. If it still cannot be fetched by then, that item is refunded automatically to the account you paid from, and we email you when the refund is issued. If the government portal is down when you order, the order still goes through: we tell you straight away and get back to you within 48 hours, with the documents or a refund.

What is not refunded

  • a delivered report or document, because you disagree with what the record says;
  • sections marked unknown, warn or danger; those are results, and the report says which source produced them;
  • an order placed for the wrong parcel after the free snapshot showed which parcel it was;
  • a payment sent to any account other than the one shown at checkout.

A case that is not one of the situations on this page is not automatically refused. Write in and we will tell you plainly what we can do.

How refunds are processed

We initiate the refund through the payment gateway, and it goes back to the original payment method: the same card, UPI account or bank account, never as store credit or to a different account. Once a refund is agreed we initiate it within 7 business days and confirm by email; the gateway returns the money within 5 to 7 business days after that. A refund for an order paid on the earlier manual UPI rail is sent by hand from the account the payment arrived in, and your bank usually shows it within 3 to 5 business days.

Asking for a refund or a cancellation

Write from the email address on the order, through the contact form or directly to legacytechnology.india@gmail.com, and include the order or report reference and the payment ID from your payment confirmation (it starts with pay_), or for a manual UPI order the bank reference (UTR). We acknowledge within 1 business day (IST). If we cannot agree, the grievance desk takes it from there.
